Incumbent Hardeeville City Council members Sal Arzillo and Sherry Carroll were ousted by newcomers Tuesday in the city's general election, according to unofficial results.

David Spisso, of Sun City, garnered the most votes in the five-candidate field with 578, followed by Carolyn Kassel, of Hampton Point, with 513 votes.

Justin Patel, a Hardeeville businessman, had 140 votes.

Incumbents Arzillo and Carroll, both elected in 2010, had 146 and 183 votes, respectively.

The count will be certified Thursday.
