Repertory Company's contributions significant

newsroom@islandpacket.comMay 12, 2014

Hank and Pat Haskell have made a significant contribution to the array of performing arts for the town of Hilton Head Island during the 22 years their South Carolina Repertory Company has been in production.

The couple has had a presence on this island since 1966. Since its founding in 1992, the Repertory Company has held an artistic niche that complements not only other performing arts but also served our community in a remarkable way.

With its final curtain call on May 11, it is unlikely that the quality and quantity of intimate dramas and comedies the Haskells have brought to Hilton Head could be replicated, due to their artistic penchant, cumulative experience and their production vision.

Pat, founder and artistic director of their theater company, has staged nearly 100 productions with her husband Hank, co-founder, five-time published author and former business executive.

Their diligent leadership and artistic selections have benefited this cultural community significantly.

The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina will miss dearly the Rep's thoughtful programming, professionalism and shared love of the theater arts.

The enriching influence of the Repertory Company will be sorely missed.

And I know I will miss them personally.

Make sure you take time to bid these fine folks well on their next chapter.
