Pvt. Haywood Treadwell - 150 year mystery of unknown Confederate soldier solved

Pvt. Haywood Treadwell of the 61st NC Volunteers, Co. G, the only Confederate soldier interred in the Beaufort National Cemetery with a tombstone marked as unknown has now been identified. A formal Confederate memorial ceremony at the Beaufort National Cemetery on took place on May 10, 2014.
