The investigation into the apparent suicide of a 12-year-old Beaufort girl continued Friday, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Sgt. Robin McIntosh would not provide additional details about what may have prompted Celeste Wills to take her life April 30.

The Robert Smalls Middle School sixth-grader was found dead in her home of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities have said. Wills' parents indicated she used one of the family's guns to shoot herself.

McIntosh did not respond to questions Friday about when the investigation would be complete or whether deputies had confirmed any incidents in which Wills had been bullied. Beaufort County School District officials said they are assisting the Sheriff's Office but declined further comment.
