Beaufort man faces burglary, drug charges

A Beaufort man was charged with burglary and possession of cocaine after breaking into an apartment on Lovejoy Street, according to the Beaufort Police Department.

A witness saw Irvin Jackson, 55, use a knife to open the apartment door and called police, according to a news release. Officers forced their way into the apartment and arrested him.

Jackson is being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center with bail set at $2,575.
