Two men robbed a Bluffton jewelry store at gunpoint Wednesday after binding employees with duct tape, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office news release.

Two suspects, one of whom was armed, reportedly held up Kay Jewelers in Tanger Outlet Center 1 just after 2:30 p.m. They gathered employees together, restrained them with the tape and directed one to hand over the contents of a jewelry case, according to the release.

The suspects also stole the manager's car keys and likely drove off in the manager's 2012 silver Chevrolet Cruze, the release said. The car, which has a Clemson paw sticker and South Carolina license plate HSP 243, was missing from the parking lot after the robbery.

Both suspects are considered armed and dangerous, the release said.

One was described as a slender, black male with a medium-dark complexion, between 21 and 25 years old, about 6-foot-1, with short-cropped hair. He wore a white T-shirt with brown shorts.

The second suspect was described as a shorter and stockier black male-- about 5-foot-7 -- and between 35 and 40 years old. He wore a white T-shirt, dark-colored shorts and a dark-colored baseball cap.

Deputies asked that anyone who sees the stolen car call 911 immediately.

Several employees of nearby stores, who declined to provide their names, said they were not aware of the incident until deputies and a S.C. Highway Patrol trooper arrived.
