Bluffton man faces crack charge

A Bluffton man was charged with intent to distribute crack cocaine Tuesday after he was spotted by a patrol officer, according to a news release.

The officer saw two people standing in the middle of Dubois Lane when a third person stepped out from some bushes, the Bluffton Police Department release said.

Malcolm Major, 27, of Bluffton was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine within a half-mile of a school. Two female suspects were charged with disorderly conduct, and one of them was also charged with possession of marijuana, the release said.

Major was being held Tuesday at the Beaufort County Detention Center, with bond set at $50,000.
