All have a right to their political views

newsroom@islandpacket.comMay 6, 2014

Twice now an Obama bumper sticker has been ripped off of our car while it was parked in public lots.

We will replace the sticker, but that is not the point. The point is that we live in an area where our right to exercise our political belief in support of the president of the United States is so offensive to at least two people that they resorted to minor vandalism.

This incident hopefully is not representative of our fellow citizens. But reading the letters on this page since we have moved to Bluffton, one wonders.

Political diversity has served our country well. Evidently not all share that view.

How sad.
