A paint can containing 93 Winchester 20-gauge shotgun shells was found at Beaufort County's Shanklin Road recycling center over the weekend, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

A recycling center employee found the can and the unspent shell Saturday afternoon and notified the Sheriff's Office, according to a Sheriff's Office report. The employee did not know who left the ammunition or when.

The shells were turned over to the Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad for proper disposal.
