Two men robbed a Lady's Island convenience store at gunpoint Thursday, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office news release.

Shortly before 11 p.m., a female employee smoking outside Tiger Express on Fairfield Road was approached by two men armed with handguns, the release said.

They forced her into the store, held her and a male employee at gunpoint and demanded cash, according to the release.

After one of the suspects got cash from behind the counter, both ran out of the store, a report said. They were described as black, between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-11, 155 pounds, 16 to 19 years old, wearing all black clothing and bandanas over their faces.

One wore a black skull cap, and the other had an afro.

Neither employee was injured in the incident, which remains under investigation, the release said.
