The second annual Publix Lowcountry Roots, Rock & Reggae Run is set for Saturday evening at Hilton Head Lakes.

The format of the race, a twilight run, allows runners an opportunity to choose to participate in the 5K Roots Run at 5 p.m., the 10K Rock Run at 6 p.m., or the 15K Reggae Run, which uses the combined time of the 5 and 10Ks.

All participants receive a tie-dyed T-shirt, plus those who choose the 15K receive an additional promo item. Pets, strollers and baby joggers are welcome in the 5K race only. All races are chip-timed.

The post-race SunSplash Party and award ceremony will feature reggae music, a craft beer garden and a food court with Caribbean favorites from Red Stripes and Okatie Ale House, and Cool Breeze Shaved Ice.

A percentage of proceeds from the event will benefit Mental Health America of Beaufort/Jasper.
