Hilton Head Island offering hazardous-waste collection day

The Town of Hilton Head Island will sponsor a household hazardous-waste roundup from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The town will collect paints, poisons, pesticides, cleansers, automotive products, household batteries, propane tanks, fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, fluorescent bulbs, and anything with caution or danger on the label. It also will accept electronics and expired medications.

The event will be off Dillon Road. Follow the signs after exiting William Hilton Parkway.
