15TH ANNUAL ZONTA CHARITY CLASSIC: Where: Golden Bear Golf Club, Indigo Run, Hilton Head Island; When: 1 p.m., April 26; Cost: $100; Format: Scramble; Registration deadline: April 24; Notes: Event benefits women's and children's charities in Beaufort County. PORT ROYAL SOUND FOUNDATION TOURNAMENT: What: Tournament to benefit the programs and conservation efforts of the Port Royal Sound Foundation; Where: Callawassie Island; When: May 19; Cost: $150 per person, $250 to sponsor hole; Notes: Includes all golf fees, lunch, and awards reception with food and drinks. BEFORE-SCHOOL AND AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS: When: Monday through Friday (regularly scheduled public school days); Where: Hilton Head Island Recreation Center; Notes: Programs combine play with academics. Children in the afterschool program receive homework assistance. Programs focus on youth development, academic success, friendship and character-building. Before-school program children will be walked over to school. There is a registration fee of $30 per child or $50 per family each year. Completed registration forms must be turned in to Rec Center before your child can attend the program. Financial assistance is available to those in need. ROLLER HOCKEY

SPRING ROLLER HOCKEY: When: April 1-May 23; Time: 6-7 p.m. for ages 4-12; 7-8 p.m. for ages 13-18; Cost: $50; Notes: Practices are held Tuesdays and games are played on Fridays. RUNNING

PUBLIX LOWCOUNTRY ROOTS ROCK & REGGAE RUN: What: 2nd annual 5K, 10K and 15K races; When: 5 p.m., April 26; Where: Hilton Head Lakes, Hardeeville; Cost: 5K and 10K are $30; 15K race is $45; Notes: A percentage of proceeds from the event will benefit local charities. The 5K Roots Run starts at 5 p.m., and the 10K Rock Run starts at 6 p.m. The 15K Reggae Run will be a combined time of the 5K and 10K. After the races, an awards ceremony and Sunsplash Party will be held. The party will feature reggae music, a craft beer garden and a food court. The party is open to the public.
