A Hilton Head Island man was robbed at knifepoint Friday as he returned to his houseboat, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.

The 48-year-old owner was walking to his boat docked at Palmetto Bay Marina at about 10:15 p.m. when a man grabbed his arm and said, "Give me the money," according to the report.

When he said he had no money, the robber put a knife to his ribs. He then gave the man his wallet, which contained a credit card, his driver's license and $35, the report said.

The suspect -- described as a tall, thin black man wearing a dark blue, hooded sweatshirt, a hat, and a bandana around his face -- ran toward the parking lot, the release said.

The Sheriff's Office is investigating, but a suspect has not been identified.
