Bluffton man shouts Bible verses at deputy

A Bluffton man was arrested Thursday night on a disorderly conduct charge after shouting Bible verses at a deputy, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.

Police responded to the man's apartment in Westbury Park on Thursday night after receiving a report of a disturbance there, according to the report.

As police tried to question him in the apartment complex parking lot, he began quoting verses from the Bible and shouting. He smelled of alcohol and had trouble completing sentences and standing, according to the report.

The man is currently being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center.
