RBC Heritage off to soggy start

The RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing is off to a soggy start, with rain forecast to continue through tonight.

Pros were invited to play practice rounds today, but thunderstorms kept many of them off the course, including golf legend Nick Faldo.

Faldo joked on Twitter that it was "even too damp for boating."

The rain was not enough to keep patrons away from the course, however. Armed with ponchos and umbrellas, many chose to wait out the weather.

The RBC Heritage Coca-Cola Youth Day putting contest, scheduled for 3 to 4 p.m. today at the Harbour Town Golf Links putting green, was rained out, according to a news release. It will not be rescheduled.
