One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident Saturday evening in Beaufort, according to the Beaufort Police Department.

A Mercedes Benz was turning onto Boundary Street from Jade Garden about 8:40 p.m. when it failed to yield right of way and struck a Jeep, according to Sgt. Owen Goethie. One person was transported to Beaufort Memorial Hospital after the accident with non-life threatening injuries, though it was not clear late Saturday which driver was hurt.

The roadway was shut down for about 10 minutes before one eastbound lane was opened, according to engineer John Perry of the Burton Fire Department.

Additional details, including the drivers' names, were not available from the police department.
