A Beaufort woman frustrated that guests would not leave her home early Saturday morning attacked one of their vehicles with a machete, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.

A friend of the woman was hosting a party at the Doe Drive home Friday night, but planned to end the gathering early Saturday morning before the 43-year-old resident returned, the report said.

When the woman came home about 1:40 a.m. and the remaining guests would not leave, she became irate, according to the report.

She grabbed a machete from inside her home and picked a vehicle at random to strike, damaging the windshield and tail light of a 1998 Ford F-150, the report said. The truck's owner did not want to press charges but wanted the vehicle repaired, the report said.

The woman later apologized to deputies, and the host of the party took responsibility for the damages.
