Prom requests pricey, sometimes for taxpayers

A recent Wall Street Journal article discussed "promposals" -- increasingly popular public spectacles during which a boy asks a girl to be his prom date.

Has anyone noticed the promposal that is standing on Pinckney Island looking at Windmill Harbor? I kayaked there with a friend to investigate and see if we could remove it.

It is comprised of letters -- PROM? -- made from large plywood pieces and painted in pink and purple. It's too large for us to handle. I wonder who will remove them? Maybe the same people who had to pay to remove two shrimp boats from Jarvis Creek: the taxpayers.
