Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School has been named a recipient of the 2014 Palmetto Gold Award for general performance, according to the S.C. Department of Education.

It was the only one of four schools in the Jasper County School District to receive the distinction and one of 592 schools recognized across the state.

The Palmetto Gold and Silver Awards program recognizes schools for general performance and closing achievement gaps. This is the first Palmetto Gold Award for the consolidated high school, according to a district news release.
