Anglican Bishop Paul William Barnett will visit Beaufort during Holy Week.

He will teach classes and preach at all Easter Sunday services at the Parish Church of St. Helena, 505 Church St.Barnett is an Anglican bishop, ancient historian and New Testament scholar. He was the Bishop of North Sydney from 1990 to 2001. He is a prominent historical writer on the rise of Christianity and the historical Jesus. Currently, he is a fellow in ancient history at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia and a teaching fellow at Regent College in Vancouver, Canada.

Bishop Barnett will teach a two-day class on the importance of Peter in early Christianity on April 15 and 16. The classes start at 11:30 a.m. both days in the parish hall at 507 Newcastle St. A light lunch will be served. To attend: 843-522-1712

He will preach at services at 7 a.m., 9 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Easter Sunday, April 20.
