The Jensens

Nathan and Rebecca Jensen and their twins Asher and Charlotte will be Beaufort County's 2014 March for Babies Ambassador Family. The Jensens will work to raise awareness about the work of March of Dimes.

Asher and Charlotte were born 12 weeks early and each weighed less than 3 pounds. They spent more than 60 days in the hospital undergoing various medical inventions, including life support. Rebecca Jensen called the time the most frightening, sad, joyous and inspirational days of her life.

More than 500,000 babies are born prematurely every year in the U.S., including nearly 9,000 in South Carolina. The Beaufort March for Babies will be at 9 a.m. April 12 at the Naval Heritage Park. Funds raised for March for Babies support community programs and research into the causes and prevention of premature birth. Participants can sign up as individual walkers, start a corporate or family team, or make a donation. To register: or 843-571-1776.
