Teinge Leroy Howard

A Hilton Head Island man was charged with drug possession early Saturday morning after deputies found cocaine in his pocket, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Teinge Leroy Howard, 30, was charged with cocaine possession with intent to distribute after deputies questioned him as part of their investigation of a disturbance call at 1 Dunningan's Alley. Deputies approached Howard about 3 a.m. in a parking lot, Capt. Bob Bromage said. They found Howard had an outstanding warrant on a criminal domestic violence charge. A subsequent search revealed he was carrying drugs, Bromage said.

Howard was being held Saturday afternoon at the Beaufort County Detention Center, with bond set at $ 15,242.50.
