The S.C. Highway Patrol has identified the passengers injured in a Thursday afternoon wreck on Hilton Head Island as two Lexington women.

Janet Washington, 18, was in serious condition Saturday at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, where she and Jessica Washington, 38, were airlifted following the single-vehicle, rollover accident on William Hilton Parkway, according to S.C. Highway Patrol Senior Trooper Hannah Wimberly and hospital staff.

The conditions of Jessica Washington and driver Willie Byrd, 18, were not available Saturday. Byrd's hometown also was unavailable Saturday.

Byrd, who was transported to Hilton Head Hospital, was traveling east on the parkway about 2:15 p.m. when his 2001 Ford Expedition crossed over the median, overcorrected, returned to the eastbound lanes and rolled over, coming to rest in the eastbound shoulder.

Only Byrd was wearing a seat belt, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
