Devin Dwayne Swinton, 23, was charged in connection with the death Tuesday of 23-year-old Dominique Curtis Scott of Ridgeland.

Swinton was arrested at a Charleston motel and taken to the Charleston County Detention Center, where he will be held pending transportation to Jasper County.
