New traffic signal at William Hilton Parkway starts Tuesday

newsroom@islandpacket.comMarch 30, 2014

Queens Way on Hilton Head Island will be closed to traffic between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday so that a contractor can apply new pavement markings to a bike and pedestrian path.

Motorists should use alternate paths to get in and out of the Leamington neighborhood during the closure, the Town of Hilton Head Island said in a news release.

In other work in that area, a new traffic signal at Queens Way and William Hilton Parkway will begin operating at 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to a separate town release.

The signal is part of a road-improvement project near the entrance to the Leamington. After the signal is activated, the median crossovers near the intersection that serve Hargray and the Fresh Market Shoppes will be permanently closed, the release said.
