COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Steve Wilkerson's three-run homer in the first inning and Chris Okey's two-run homer in the fifth inning lifted No. 20 Clemson to a 7-1 win over No. 25 Maryland to give the Tigers a sweep of an ACC doubleheader Friday night.

The Tigers (17-9, 8-3 ACC) had 13 hits in the second game, led by Wilkerson's 3-for-4 performance. He had two doubles in addition to his three-run shot.

Matthew Crownover (5-2) won the nightcap, pitching his first career complete game. Starter Mike Shawaryn (5-1) suffered his first loss of the year for Maryland (16-8, 5-6 ACC).

Shane Kennedy went 4 for 4 with a home run and hit a go-ahead RBI triple in the ninth inning to lead Clemson to a 3-1 win in the opener.

Daniel Gossett (3-0) pitched eight strong innings for the win. He gave up eight hits, one run, and one walk with six strikeouts. Matt Campbell recorded his fifth save of the year.

Kennedy's solo homer in the second inning was the game's lone run until pinch-hitter Michael Montville hit a solo home run in the eighth inning to tie the score. But Kennedy came through with a triple in the ninth inning to score Steve Wilkerson and later came home on Jay Baum's sacrifice fly.

The series concludes Saturday at 2 p.m.
