Sir Willie Innes, ambassador for the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing golf tournament, was at Hilton Head Island Elementary School on March 25, 2014, to congratulate the students, who took top honors in the Heritage Classic Foundation's annual "Plaid About Reading" program. Competing against 10 other elementary schools, Hilton Head Island Elementary School students read the most book pages in the program, winning a total of $1,000 for the school. Also, four students won tickets to the RBC Heritage for their individual reading efforts.

Sir Willie also spoke to the students of Dedra Barker's first-grade class, which was the highest achieving class at the school, reading a total of 24,853 pages.

During Heritage tournament week next month, all students who participated in the program will be eligible to meet Sir Willie Innes and a PGA Tour golfer April 16 at Hilton Head Island Library.
