Fire officials are investigating the cause of an accidental house fire Monday night on Washington Street in Beaufort.

The fire was reported at 8:38 p.m. Four people were inside the home at the time of the fire, and all four got out safely, including one occupant who was wheelchair-bound. There were no injuries reported, and the house did not see significant damage.

The Beaufort Fire Department could not rule out combustible materials left near a heater as a cause of the fire, but there was no definitive cause given, spokesman John Robinson said.
