BOYS SOCCER

Bluffton 4, Hilton Head Prep 1: The Bobcats got goals from Sage Cross, Gerardo Govea, William Holland and Pablo Rios, while goalie Steven DiMaria made four saves.

Bluffton plays at Summerville on Tuesday.

Prep's only goal came on a Lucas McMillan penalty kick in the second half. Goalkeeper Robert Clark made 13 saves for Hilton Head Prep (3-3), which plays at 3 p.m. Friday at Frederica Academy (Ga.).

Bishop England 1, Battery Creek 0: Tristian Saunders had seven saves in goal, but it wasn't enough for the Dolphins (2-1, 1-1 Region 6-AA), who host Beaufort High at 7 p.m. Friday.

Beaufort Academy 4, Lipscomb Academy (Tenn.) 2: Clay Melville scored twice, and Jack Olsson and George Sanford added single goals for the Eagles (4-3, 2-0 SCISSA Region 2-AA). Ashton Guest had eight saves in goal.

Hilton Head Christian 3, First Baptist 0: John Ross Moise sandwiched a goal between two Zach McCutchen goals, and Thomas Gloven had a shutout in goal to lead the Eagles to victory.

GIRLS SOCCER

Hilton Head Christian Academy 7, First Baptist 0: Abigail Bensch scored twice and Eagles Stevie DeSimone, Callie Haertel, Audrey Bensch, Lindsey Gillis and Alyssa Lane added single goals in a game that was out of hand at 6-0 at the intermission. Abigail Bensch, Lane and Gillis recorded assists.

Eagles Meaghan Gillis and Rebecca Donaldson split halves in goal on their way to a shutout.

The Eagles (2-0, 2-0) host Northwood Academy at 4 p.m. Friday.

Bishop England 10, Battery Creek 0: Taylor Jones had 20 saves in a tough matchup for the Dolphins (1-1), who host Woodland on Tuesday.

Beaufort Academy 13, Colleton Prep 0: Mary Keane scored five goals and Miranda Weslake scored three as the Eagles (4-0, 3-0) rolled to victory.

Brynna Ferry and Nicole Schmiege scored their first goals of the season. Carli Cline made three tough saves and 12 total for the shutout.

The Eagles will host Hilton Head Prep on Tuesday.

Bluffton 6, Hilton Head Prep 0: The Dolphins (2-2) play Friday at Frederica Academy (Ga.).

Hilton Head Island 148, Beaufort High 152, Bluffton 154: Beaufort High's Josh Fickes shot a 33 to win medalist honors for the second straight day, but the Seahawks won the team competition, led by Adam Orischak's 34, at Dataw Island's Morgan River Course.

Bluffton 6, Ashley Ridge 0: The Bluffton boys began their season with a clean sweep of Region 8-AAAA opponent Ashley Ridge. The Bobcats didn't drop a single set in the win.

Bluffton hosts Colleton County on Tuesday.

Masters Academy (Fla.) 2, Hilton Head Island 1: Ryan Cherry pitched five strong innings in a tough loss for the Seahawks (3-2). Cherry gave up two earned runs in the fourth on a single, a double and a single.

Michael Perez drove in the Seahawks' lone run with an RBI double to score John Good in the second. Hilton Head Island plays a 5:30 p.m. doubleheader Wednesday at Stall.

Middle school: Hilton Head Middle 11, Robert Smalls 1 (5 innings)

West Ashley 9, Beaufort High 5 (Wednesday): Bradley Brown took the loss on the mound. Carson Gregory went 3 for 3, Mattison Pike went 2 for 3 with a double and a home run and Brady Cormier went 1 for 3 with a home run.

JV: Beaufort High 6, Battery Creek 2

SOFTBALL

Whale Branch 15, Allendale-Fairfax 5, 6 innings: Olivia Walker (3-1) earned the win, striking out five and going 5 for 5 at the plate with a double and an RBI. Tanasia Campbell was 4 for 4 with a double, and RBI and four runs scored, while Marrisa Roberts was 5 for 5 with a double, a triple and three RBIs. Nya Simmons was 2 for 4 with two runs.

The Warriors (3-1, 2-1 Region 5-A) hosts Hilton Head Island for a doubleheader on Monday.
