USC offers ironic plan for lifelong learners

It is amusing to see space for the Osher Lifelong Learning added to the building plan for the University of South Carolina Beaufort campus on Hilton Head Island.

Osher has been on the island for about eight years in a small room at Pineland Station. The university chose to compete with the already-established Lifelong Learning of Hilton Head, a volunteer organization that presents classes in many venues on the island and allows residents of Cypress, Seabrook or Tide Point to attend classes there without charge.
