One person was injured in a shooting overnight Friday in Beaufort, according to the Beaufort Police Department.

Officers were called to the S J Bamfield Elks Lodge on Church Street around midnight on a report of a shooting, Cpl. Andy Brub said.

One person was taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital, but the person's identity and condition were not available Saturday.

No arrest had been made Saturday, but police had identified one person of interest, Brub said.

He declined to release more details, citing the ongoing investigation.
