A Burton man wanted in connection with a shooting March 7 was arrested Wednesday, a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office spokesman said.

Omar Lamont Habersham, 36, was arrested without incident on Kennedy Circle in Burton after the Sheriff's Office received an anonymous tip on his whereabouts, Lt. Mike Riley said.

The Sheriff's Office had issued arrest warrants for attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime against Habersham Monday in connection with a shooting inside a Coinbow Loop home.

At about 11 p.m. Mar. 7, deputies found a 32-year-old man doubled over on a couch with gunshot wounds to the leg and hips. He was treated at Beaufort Memorial Hospital and released. The victim said he did not know who shot him or why. The suspect entered the home through a back door, fired several shots and ran, the release said.

Habersham is currently being held without bond in the Beaufort County Detention Center, according to the jail log.
