A Ridgeland woman was charged with first-degree assault and battery Saturday in connection with a hit-and-run accident in Hardeeville.

Shanan Cierra Singleton was driving in a parking lot on 1st Street at about 8:40 p.m. when she hit a 19-year-old Bluffton woman and drove away, according to a Hardeeville Police Department report. She turned herself in Sunday, the report said.

Singleton was released Monday from the Jasper County Detention Center after posting a $50,000 bond, according to court records.

The victim suffered a minor injury, according to the report. Further details on her condition were not available Wednesday.
