A teenager was punched and robbed in a Hilton Head Island shopping center parking lot Wednesday, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office news release.

The 17-year-old told deputies he was riding his bike through the parking lot on Pembroke Drive at about 1:30 p.m. when two men approached in a black Ford Mustang, punched him in the face several times, and stole his cellphone and wallet before driving away on William Hilton Parkway.

The victim suffered minor facial injuries but declined medical attention, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Deputies found his cellphone in woods near the parking lot.

The suspects were described as black men age 18 to 25. Both wore black hooded sweatshirts and tan cargo shorts.

One suspect was about 6-feet, 160 pounds with chin-length dreadlocks; the other was about 5-foot-5, 170 pounds with shoulder-length dreadlocks.
