A man was injured in a shooting in Beaufort late Friday night, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office news release.

Deputies were called to Beaufort Memorial Hospital about 11:30 p.m. in reference to a 26-year-old man suffering from several non-life threatening gunshot wounds, the release said. ER staff told deputies a handgun fell from the victim's pants as they placed the man on a stretcher. Investigators also seized cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia from the man, the release said. The 30-year-old woman who brought the man to the hospital told deputies they were standing outside a house party in the 100 block of Detour Road when the victim was shot in the lower torso.

Neither she nor the victim would provide any information about a possible suspect or the reason for the shooting, the release said.

The victim's condition was not available Saturday and it was not immediately clear whether he would be charged in connection with the firearm or the drugs.

Anyone with information can call either Investigator Sgt. C. Wilson at 843-255-3409 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC (274-6372) or text the word TIPSC with a message to CRIMES (274637).
