A home fire Saturday morning displaced a St. Helena Island family, according to the St. Helena-Lady's Island Fire District.

Firefighters called to 171 Ball Park Road shortly before 11 a.m. found smoke coming from beneath a mobile home, Batallion Chief Will Vaigneur said. The flames were contained to the area under the home, but the rest of the structure had minor smoke damage, he said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation Saturday, but it appeared accidental, Vaigneur said.

No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross is providing temporary lodging to the family of two adults and two children, a news release said.
