Shots were fired into a Hilton Head Plantation home Monday, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Plantation security officers were called shortly before 11:30 p.m. to Sugar Pine Lane, where residents said they heard gunshots and found two bullets lodged in a wall, according to an email to residents from the community's property owners association. No one was injured.

Sgt. Robin McIntosh of the Sheriff's Office declined to release more details about the incident, citing the ongoing investigation. However, a Sheriff's Office report about the incident said security officers also investigated a gray pickup truck that wrecked outside the community's back gate and then failed to stop while entering the plantation's front gate about 11:30 p.m.

Officers tracked the truck to a home on Fox Hunt Drive and charged a 20-year-old man with driving under the influence, the report said. He was released Tuesday from the Beaufort County Detention Center after posting a $997 bond.
