Two Bluffton schools deserve own programs

newsroom@islandpacket.comFebruary 24, 2014

Bluffton parents and students, it's time to be heard -- again.

I can't believe I need to say this again. I thought a few months ago we, Bluffton parents and students, came out and were very clear about what our children need and deserve from their school system.

If I am not mistaken, the Beaufort County Board of Education listened and heard our heartfelt plea for two new schools with separate athletic and extracurricular programs. More importantly, they voted and passed superintendent Jeffrey Moss's final proposal.

So why are we talking about this again? They voted; it passed. Let's move forward with our children's future.

Those concerned for "The Bluffton State of Mind" need to remember, it does not come from our athletic program. And our main concern needs to be how to best serve our children.

There is a school board meeting Tuesday at the Bluffton library at 6 p.m. Please come out and remove any doubt about how to best serve our children. Show your support for two new schools with their own athletic and extracurricular programs.
