Prep Roundup, Feb. 21: Beaufort Academy girls win in first round of SCISAA playoffs

The Beaufort Academy girls basketball team grabbed an early advantage Friday and advanced with a 38-27 win over The King's Academy in the first round of the SCISAA Class 2-A tournament at Porter-Gaud.

Miranda Weslake was the only Beaufort Academy player to score in double figures with 17.

The Eagles led 25-19 at halftime.

Beaufort Academy (17-6) will play either Holly Hill or Carolina Academy in the second round at 8 p.m. Monday in Sumter.
