A 31-year-old Beaufort man was charged Friday with trafficking crack cocaine after deputies made multiple controlled purchases from him, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office news release.

Dewarn Quintrell Wright was arrested about 5:30 a.m. after deputies searched his home at 15 Poppy Hill Road, the release said. Deputies seized 18 grams of crack cocaine, less than 1 gram of powdered cocaine, less than 1 gram of marijuana, $926 in cash and drug paraphernalia, the release said.

In 2010, Wright was sentenced to three years in prison for trafficking between 10 and 28 grams of cocaine, according to court records.

He was being held Friday at the Beaufort County Detention Center pending bond hearings.
