A 25-year-old Bluffton man was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor for providing alcohol to underage partygoers, a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office spokesman said.

Deputies were called to a house Sunday in Colleton River Plantation after a neighbor reported a possible burglary to the community's security service. Instead, deputies found a party in a house, whose owner was out of the country, Lt. Col. Bill Neill said.

Neill said the people had permission to be there, but deputies noticed beer cans on a kitchen counter. The man admitted to purchasing the beer and serving it to the underage partygoers, so he was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, Neill said.

He was released Monday from the Beaufort County Detention Center after posting a $5,000 bond, according to the jail log.
