Kinyada Gillison

A 26-year-old Beaufort man was arrested Friday and charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies stopped Kinyada Gillison for a traffic violation and discovered he had an active misdemeanor warrant with the Beaufort Police Department, sheriff Sgt. Robin McIntosh said. Gillison had been arrested previously for drug activity, prompting deputies to search his vehicle with a patrol dog, McIntosh said.

Deputies found 22 small bags containing a total of 5.3 grams of crack cocaine, she said. Gillison was being held Friday at the Beaufort County Detention Center, with bond set at $10,220.38.
