Hilton Head's talent outshined Super Bowl

info@islandpacket.comFebruary 9, 2014

Not only did Super Bowl Sunday provide islanders with plenty of sunshine, we had other reasons to celebrate. (And we don't mean that evening's hyped-up, super-boring game.)

There was another celebration that took place that afternoon at First Presbyterian Church --a concert of beautiful voices featuring the outstanding operatic talent of 10 young opera singers from places ranging from New York to Argentina.

The singers, who will be featured in this summer's Savannah Voice Festival, thrilled the audience with their brilliant, heartfelt renditions of classic songs -- everything from Verdi's "La Traviata" to Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Evita."

To see the quality performance by these talented singers is yet more proof of the fine arts we have on this lovely island.
