A Hilton Head Island man was arrested Thursday evening and charged with trafficking cocaine, according to court records.

The arrest followed a long-term investigation into alleged drug activity at 19 Marblehead Road, a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office news release said. When deputies searched the home about 7:30 p.m. Thursday, they reportedly seized about 13 grams of cocaine, 10 grams of marijuana, $1,100 cash and various rounds of ammunition.

Danardis Quaviel Mitchell, 34, was home at the time and charged with marijuana possession and cocaine trafficking, the release said. He is being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.

Additional charges and arrests are pending, the release said.
