Activity in church: Lay person, spear-headed efforts to establish St. Andrew's second campus in Bluffton

Being disciples. It started with an opportunity to find out what St. Andrew's wanted to do about how we want to be disciples. There was an overall theme that we could accomplish many of the projects we had thoughts of by bringing into existence an extension of our church to Bluffton. There's been a lot of people who have worked to bring the Bluffton campus around. It's something I've been very passionate about, and lucky to be a part of from the beginning.

Patience. This is almost a hybrid of starting a new church and growing our own church. These little ministries we've been working on for the last few years in Bluffton have been fantastic and well received. We've been building some great relationships. But we haven't had the ability to say come worship with us on Sundays, unless they were willing to come to (Hilton Head). Now we have the ability to connect with them in Bluffton.

Most rewarding. Watching how God works even when it's not in the plans that you've set forth. I have no idea what the next people who might want to join our church will bring, but I do know that having the doors open to a new community will allow for our church to grow at a faster rate than if we were just waiting for people to come to us.

Motto. The church is not a building, and that's been our whole motto as we've been out in Bluffton for the past few years. We decided we needed to build relationships before we opened up church doors. And so we've been doing all kinds of things out there to build relationships.
