A Bluffton High School assistant girls basketball coach is no longer with the Beaufort County School District following an investigation, according to district officials.

Alexandra L. Murphy was approved after Jan. 9 as an unpaid volunteer with the Bobcats, according to district spokesperson Jim Foster. The district began an investigation into a situation involving Murphy late Monday or early Tuesday, Bluffton principal Mark Dievendorf added.

Dievendorf and Foster declined to provide additional details, including why the district began its investigation, and whether Murphy resigned or was dismissed. Murphy, Bluffton girls head coach Lonnie Roberts and athletics director Dave Adams declined to comment.
