Beaufort man charged, jailed in strong-arm robbery

A Beaufort man was charged with strong-arm robbery Monday after being accused of pushing a man to the ground to steal his money, according to the Beaufort Police Department.

Police believe George Holmes, 30, went to the home of an acquaintance and robbed him at about 7:15 a.m., Cpl. Hope Able said.

Holmes was in the Beaufort County Detention Center on Tuesday, with bond set at $15,000.
