WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON IN LOWCOUNTRY LIFE ...

The features staff at The Island Packet and The Beaufort Gazette has several great stories coming up, and we need your help.

  • We're looking for parents (or even grandparents) who want to talk about temper tantrums -- anything from the minor at-home incident to the full-on grocery store meltdown. What advice have you been given or what would you tell other parents on how to deal with them?

  • Know anyone who teaches their young children to spend their money wisely? Send them our way.

  • Have your children been bullied? We want to know how you handled it. What's a parent to do?

  • Do you know any grandparents who are raising their grandchildren? We'd like to know more about their stories of triumph and challenge.

  • How can parents boost their kids' confidence? Share your ideas with us.

  • How has technology changed your parenting style? Let us know your thoughts.

  • For any of the above, email family reporter Amy Bredeson at abredeson@islandpacket.com.
  • Do you have an unusual or unique name? Email arts and culture reporter Erin Shaw at eshaw@islandpacket.com.

  • Are you afraid of bridges? We'd like to know more about how you deal with that fear while driving in Beaufort County, or to Savannah or Charleston. Email health reporter Laura Oberle at loberle@islandpacket.com
  • The Island Packet is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
