SC Repertory Theater will be sorely missed

info@islandpacket.comJanuary 31, 2014

South Carolina Repertory Theater recently announced its closing after completion of this season's productions.

This marvelous jewel in the cultural array of Hilton Head Island has contributed 22 years and 110 productions of marvelous repertory theater in an intimate venue. Patrons enjoyed a warm welcome, great theater, and, as a side, great candy bars in baskets for the taking.

This theater will be missed. It represents a very high level of intelligent arts management, understanding its audience, providing quality entertainment, and maintaining strong financial stability throughout its reign, largely based on the tireless efforts of Pat and Hank Haskell and the support of their loyal fan base on Hilton Head.

For any who has missed the experience, there are four great shows this season, and I encourage you to indulge. This is repertory theater of high quality that provides delightful evenings at an affordable price.

To the Haskells, enjoy your respite and take enormous pride in what you have provided Hilton Head all these years. Thanks for the memories -- and for a great finishing season.
